Cloudy with a chance of pain
A number of us took part in this University of Manchester study over 16 months and the results are now out. Every year it’s like running into a brick wall at autumn, now I have an answer for the changing levels of pain, humidity! Have a look at the website, ‘cloudy with a chance of pain’, usual www. Bits apply. So now you…

Re: I’m 29 with rheumatoid arthritis
Hi Sammy! I have just come across your post and would like to think I can relate to you. I am 21 with RA, diagnosed at 18 months. I too have been on Methotrexate and it made me super poorly, with my hair falling out in clumps, and it brought my moods down drastically as a result. I have since tried a few medications but…

Mattress help
Hi. I’d like. Some advice on mattresses. I like previous writers struggle with pain, mainly In my hips, when trying to sleep. I think I may need to invest in a new mattress. Does anyone have a recommendation? I realise it won’t be cheap so I need to know I’m making the right choice. Also any advice on pillows would be…

Physio
I have been promised physio but not been sent an appointment (yet!) but have not been given the option of seeing a hospital specialist as (or so I was told) they are only interested in seeing people with RA unless and until your OA is severe enough to need surgery. Is this true?

O.A Fibromyalgia or Menopause???
Hello lovely poeple. I wonder if any women (of a certin age) are struggling with menopause symptoms and coping with OA. I was diagnosed with OA in my knees and lumbar spine ealrier this year. As I was recently experiencing unusual pains, not sleeping well at all, so terrible fatigue and brain fog, I visited my GP and he…

Baricitinib and weight gain
I've been on Baricitinib since the spring of last year along with Leflonomide and I've seen fabulous results in my mobility, but also seen weight gain and have a constant bloated stomach ache. So I'm mobile and pretty pain-free (so much so I'm back doing yoga) but about a stone heavier and feeling rubbish in my guts. It…

Just saying hello...
Hi My name is Stuart and I've had long term RA for about 8-12 years, since my mid-forties. As you'd expect, I've been through the normal clinical pathways but missed Methotrexate due to an underlying lung issue. From a significant amount of pain and swelling and lack of mobility that nearly made me give up working, I'm now…

psoriatic arthritis
Hi. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in my hands. I decided not to take any medication as the symptoms weren't life changing. I now have osteoarthritis in my hip and lower back, confirmed by an X-ray. I'm a runner and absolutely gutted that I haven't been able to run for 2 months. I'm hoping the pain in my hip is…

Unfair
After seeing an occupational therapist in regards to my Osteoarthritis from work and it has been stated that I come under the disability act 2010 nothing has been put into place for such as reasonable adjustments. This is so unfair 😡

I have a lump
I have a lump, about 1cm down from my middle finger on my right hand. It's been there for years, as it doesn't hurt I kept forgetting to ask about it. Apparently it is some kind of swelling which could be injected with steroid to reduce it but as that raises the risk of infection, and it will probably return, I've decided…
